Going for Gold @ GDP #020

The latest Global Design Challenge has been stuck in my head all week despite having completed this challenge earlier in the week. So over the last couple of days I've been putting these two cards together ...   I ran the VersaMark Pad over the Stripes Decorative Mask then embossed it with Gold Emboss Powder. I used the heart from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and in the first card I individually stuck the sequin on from the Gold Sequin Trim and in the second card I stuck large Pearls around the edge. Under both hearts I used the Gold Metallic Thread.   My friend's parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary shortly so they'll be receiving one of these cards!   As a refresher here is Connie's card I've cased: There are so many inspiration ideas over at GDP (from the designers and the players) - it's definitely worth a visit!    Bye for now Angela x

CASE-ing Connie #GDP020

This week's challenge over at Global Design Project is CASE-ing Connie Collins. The designers have made some amazing cards and I'm so keen to CASE the CASE-ing! To keep in with the stripes I decided to use the Corrugated Paper which I also thought lent itself well to a male card. No guessing how old the recipient of the card is turning! The Number of Years Stamp set and Large Numbers Framelits Dies are such a great bundle to have - so many possibilities. Hopefully I'll have another chance this week to give this challenge another go! My lovely husband took the girls and a friend each to Hanmer for the day, they're on their way home now so I need to get out of my craft room! See you soon - Angela x

Be My Valentine!

Hello and thanks for stopping by it's lovely to have you here! Today I finally made my project for the Global Design Project #GDP019 | Theme Challenge . I was starting to get a little worried that I was running out of time - it's been a busy week! The theme this week is love!  I love creating cute little things for my girls especially my youngest who is such a "girly girl" and loves that kind of thing! So I made little treat bags which I plan to fill with sweets and surprise them with on Valentines Day. I'll also make a masculine one for their dad! I made this using the Birthday Bouquet DSP again - I just love this paper and think it is an absolute must have from the Occasions Catalogue!   I'm off to post this on the Global Design Project before I miss out.   See you soon - Angela x

In-Home Workshop

Yesterday I had my Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Launch. I had a lovely group of friends along for High Tea and Crafting. Everyone received an attendance gift of a pair of earrings. Hopefully you'll recognise these embellishments from the Occasions Catalogue - they are the Botanical Garden Jewels. We made projects using some of the fabulous new products. Followed by afternoon tea. After having a lot of my china broken in the earthquakes I've decided it is silly not to use it and besides tea tastes so much better in a china cup! I'm off to set up for the market now - it rained first thing this morning but thankfully it has stopped! See you soon - Angela x

Market Day!

This Sunday a fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrator and I are having a stall at a market so today I've been in my craft room all day pottering around finishing projects and making price tags.   We are hoping for lovely weather as we don't have a gazebo and being Summer it should be okay but based on the last couple of days I'm not so sure!   So if you are in Christchurch or the vicinity pop in to see us at St John of God, 26 Nash Road, Halswell.   "Set in the award winning gardens of St John of God, Hauora Trust, our markets provide a place for people to connect and support local businesses, musicians, clubs and groups. This is a real community event with a variety of stalls offering plants, handmade crafts, local produce and amazing food. There is something for everyone at the Halswell Market: Fresh Organic Coffee, a wide variety of food trucks, live music, entertainment and beautiful award winning grounds to relax in. Hello Global Design Project #018 and Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #30

We have just got back after three nights in the cute coastal town of Kaikoura. We had a lovely time swimming, seal watching, eating out and having some family time.       While I was away I kept on thinking about the Global Design Project Challenge and what I could do and this is what I came up with ... And this is the sketch ... I used a bit of poetic licence when it came to the circle! Here's a close up: The colours I used were based on the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge: It was a labour of love putting the hello thinlit die through the Big Shot 12 times! Why does it always seem to be meal time around here? See you soon Angela x

Hello Little Sunshine!

Today I tackled The Paper Players Colour Challenge #277 and the Can You Case It? Sketch Challenge #102. All I had to come up with was the stamps I was going to use! Maybe someone could come up with a challenge for that? I think Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise were the first two stamp pads I got in my kit - and I still love them! I stamped inside the balloons with the spotted stamp from Enjoy the Little Things and this is how I did it ... I used post it notes around the outside of the image and then stamped the middle - there's bound to be an easier way but this did work! Right time to get dinner on the table - see you again soon - Angela x

Party with Cake and Mojo Monday 429

For a card maker I'm often the one giving presents without a card - terrible isn't it? So today when I decided to do the Mojo Monday challenge I looked to see whose birthday was next and made a card for them. My friend's husband is 65 next month and here in NZ that means you get a gold card so I that's why I went with the gold. I also got my inspiration from a cool black, white and gold card I'd pinned on Pinterest.  Here's the inside - I always pop a piece of co-ordinating DSP along the bottom to tie it in with the front. And here's the sketch. I love sketches! Right I'm off again - see you again soon Angela x

You're So Sweet Pals Paper Arts

I'm loving being on holiday and having time to make cards. This is my take on the Pals Paper Arts sketch.   I just can't get enough of this paper and have just about finished my pack. The colours are my favourite and having them together is just perfect. I coloured the white Honeycomb Embellishment with my Aqua Painter and Watermelon Wonder Ink then added the Wink of Stella to the edges. I did a little colour wash on the background of the circle - I love adding a little free-hand art - it takes me back to my art days at school! Time for a coffee - see you soon Angela x

One for the Boys!

As you know anything male (or green) isn't my forte but since I've been spending more time card making lately I think I'm finally getting the hang of it! Another demonstrator and I are having a stall in a few weeks so I'm busy making items to sell. I thought these tags worked out really well using the new Party with Cake stamp set. I'll post the details of the market soon so if you're in Christchurch you might like to pop along! Bye for now Angela x

Botanicals for You GDP#017

Yay I'm so excited the Global Design Project Team are back in action with another fabulous challenge. This time it's a colour challenge and challenge it is! I'm just not a green person! My husband on the other hand loves green - maybe I should have had him make the card! Now that would have been funny! Okay enough laughing at his expense ... Here is my card.  It is similar to a card I made at the end of December - I think the bold colours go so well with this stamp set. I've added a Wink of Stella to the Just for You - it's so easy to use and there's always somewhere you can add a little sparkle! If you are wondering where the gold embellishments came from, they are Rhinestone that I gold embossed. So although I haven't used much Garden Green I'm beginning to think maybe I do like the colour after all and maybe I might even start using it a bit more! Thanks for the inspiration GDP! I also wanted to give a shout out to my friend Cheryl who...

I'm Back Again!

I've spent the morning making packaging for a little gift I've made for everyone that attends my upcoming Sale-A-Bration/Occasions Catalogue Launch on 23 January 2016. Thanks to the amazing Pootles (a whizz at making packaging of all shapes and sizes) I've made these cute little boxes, bags and envelopes. If you'd live in Christchurch (or nearby) and would like to come along please email me! Now it's back to watching "The Sound of Music" and dismantling the Christmas tree! See you soon Angela x

Happy New Year!

I'm so glad 2016 is here - I have the feeling it's going to be a great year! Okay so today's not so great - it's pouring with rain but then again I kind of like that I have to stay inside (my craft room)! I tidied up a bit and then made the little note cards below. I often want to write a note to a customer and my business cards don't have any room for that so I decided to make my own. I thought the Hello in the Hello SAB set worked perfectly. Right I'm off to make some more projects - hopefully I'll be back soon - Angela x
