CASEING THE CATTY #190 | ARTISTIC IMPRESSIONS

This week my inspiration came from the "Happy Birthday"  card below on page 127 of the Annual Catalogue.  

This is such a pretty card!

 

 

Unfortunately I don't own everything in the catalogue so using what I had I created my version! My card base has been embossed using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and I've gone with a Calypso Coral colour combination including the strip of striped paper from the 6" x 6" Subtles Designer Series Paper. The Beautiful You stamp set has images with a similar feel to the ones in the Wonderful Moments stamp set. 
 

 

I stamped the image in Basic Black on Shimmery White cardstock and coloured it using an Aqua Painter and Calypso Coral ink. Around the outside is a wash of Pool Party.

 

 

Details like the wash over the sentiment add that something extra as do the strip of ribbon underneath it and the sequins scattered on the card.

 

Water colouring is lots of fun and I'm looking forward to sharing this technique at an upcoming class.
